Overall a great experience. It's great to have a company where you can talk to people who know what they are doing. They were extremely professional. From initial office staff through to the engineer doing the installation. I would strongly recommend them.

Earth Day 2024

Monday 22nd April is Earth Day, an annual event to demonstrate support for environmental protection. Earth Day is the perfect opportunity to reassess how we’re making a positive environmental impact, at a time when it’s more important than ever.

The United Nations has stated that to avoid the worst impacts of climate change, global temperatures need to be limited to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels. To keep global warming to 1.5°C and preserve the planet to a liveable state, emissions need to be cut by 45% and reach net zero by 2050.

Do EVs produce less emissions than petrol or diesel vehicles?

Electric Vehicles (EVs) emit 17-30% fewer greenhouse gases and air pollutants over their life than petrol or diesel cars. They also don’t emit any carbon dioxide emissions or soot, making them a sustainable choice due to reduced pollution and improving air quality.  Making EVs does use a lot of energy, with more than a third of their lifetime CO2 emissions occurring during production, but studies have shown that over the course of their life they still produce less pollutants overall than petrol or diesel cars. A recent study found that, on average, emissions from EV sedans were 35% of the emissions of their internal-combustion engine (ICE) counterparts and electric SUVs produced 37% less than their ICE equivalent.Furthermore, many manufacturers are developing ways to reduce the environmental impact of EV production, which could reduce EV lifetime emissions even further.

In fact, the average EV driver will put 1.5 million fewer grams of CO2 into the atmosphere each year than those driving a petrol or diesel vehicle. This saves the amount of CO2 equivalent to flying from London to Amsterdam and back 15 times!
