Overall a great experience. It's great to have a company where you can talk to people who know what they are doing. They were extremely professional. From initial office staff through to the engineer doing the installation. I would strongly recommend them.

Case Study: Commercial Installation at Surrey Hospital

Brief

This client wanted to install six new electric vehicle charge points, utilising the available power, for fleets used to transport hospital patients.

Recommendations

We advised the client that 6 charge points, when all in use, would not provide a sufficient rate of charge. This would mean extended charge times and reduced turnaround of vehicles, possibly leaving vehicles with insufficient range to make necessary trips. We advised the client to instead install four charge points and use active load management to monitor the loads. These would provide sufficient power, providing charge for essential services at times of high demand. Should additional EV charging points be required at a later date, we could then discuss upgrading the mains.

Product design

To meet the client requirements, we recommended Sevadis MaxiCharger 22kW EV charging points and an active load management interface, as these charge points are wired individually. All the charging points would be able to charge at 22kW, regardless of the vehicle, and power was taken from a local MCCB board, limited to provide a minimum of 7.2kW per EV charger 4G network. Switches were used due to restrictions on the corporate network.

Installation

All involved parties worked together to provide a seamless installation, resulting in a very happy client!
