Overall a great experience. It's great to have a company where you can talk to people who know what they are doing. They were extremely professional. From initial office staff through to the engineer doing the installation. I would strongly recommend them.

How to Boost Your EV's Range

We’ve all heard the hacks about how to improve fuel efficiency for petrol and diesel cars, but did you know there are also ways to help the range of your EV? Whether you’re new to the world of EVs or have years of experience under your belt, knowing what can impact the range of your car and how to boost it can do wonders for your road trips and take your driving experience to the next level.

Keep An Eye On Those Tyres

Just as it can with petrol and diesel vehicles, low tyre pressure can mean problems for your EV. This is because it creates resistance, which means your EV has to work harder taking you from A to B.

Be sure to give those tyres some TLC, pump them up to the manufacturer’s recommended level and you’re good to go.

Watch the Weather

Temperature changes aren’t just tough on us. Your EV might not enjoy a sudden drop in temperature or an unexpected heat wave just the same.

If you’re defending against the cold, try heating up the vehicle before setting off and use heated seats rather than AC. If you’re battling a heatwave, keep the windows up to reduce drag and set the AC to a low setting.

Take Terrain Into Account

There’s no doubt that a few hills and climbs add some excitement to a journey, but they also take the wind out of an EV’s range. When mapping out your route, try to keep to flatter roads where possible.

If your EV has regenerative braking, be sure to have the setting switched on. This will catch the energy your car would usually lose from braking and store it to give you a boost for your journey.

Drive Mindfully

You’ll get much better range out of your EV if you treat it kindly when it comes to the pedals. Be gentle with your approach to accelerating and braking and you’ll find you’ll squeeze some more miles into your journey.

Keep Luggage Light

The heavier your EV, the more energy it’ll need per mile. Take some time to declutter your car, ditch anything you don’t need, and pack light for your trip. Your EV will thank you for the extra miles.

Be sure to keep these top tips in mind next time you hit the road in your EV and you’ll be stacking up the miles in no time.
